Sari Pan Pacific Jakarta Received the Asean Green Hotel Award at the Asean Tourism Forum 2010

At the recent “ASEAN Green Hotel Award” held during the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2010 in Brunei on 25th January 10 Indonesian hotels were awarded the “Asean Green Hotel Award” by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in Brunei.
Sari Pan Pacific Jakarta is proud to be one of the four awardees in Jakarta and General Manager, Luc Bollen received the award from H.E. Jero Wacik, the Minister of Tourism of Indonesia on February 10th.
The winning hotels are recognized for their outstanding efforts in environmental conservation as all passed the rigorous selection criteria for the award.

“The ASEAN Green Hotel” awards hotels who are environmentally-friendly and adopt energy conservation measures complying with 11 major criteria. Energy and water efficiency, environmental policy, actions at hotel operations level, use of green products, collaboration with the community and local organizations, and practice of sustainable eco-tourism are taken into account. The hotels must be environment friendly minimize any form of pollution or have an adverse impact on the environment.
“Green Hotels” are environmentally-friendly properties whose managers are eager to institute programs that save water, energy and reduce solid waste—while saving money—to help PROTECT OUR ONE AND ONLY EARTH!, as quoted by the “Green” hotel Association. The Green Hotel Standard is not only environmentally sound but equally makes economic sense.
