The Group expands its portfolio to 38 “Pan Pacific” and PARKROYAL hotels, resorts and serviced suites with the signing of four management contracts in Australia, China and Myanmar.
Singapore, 10 February 2014 – Pan Pacific Hotels Group has announced the signings of four management contracts to add three PARKROYAL and one “Pan Pacific” hotels to its portfolio across Asia Pacific – namely in Australia, China and Myanmar.
With these additions, the Group now owns and/or manages 38 hotels, resorts and serviced suites with close to 12,000 rooms in Asia, Oceania and North America, including those under development.
“With its prevailing global economic and tourism influence, Asia Pacific is a key growth region for the Group and we are delighted to be making headway in our target markets where we have already established iconic hotels,” says Bernold Schroeder, Chief Executive Officer, Pan Pacific Hotels Group.
“Our four latest management contract signings will complement our existing properties to strengthen the Group’s presence across Asia Pacific and win over more customers to our PARKROYAL and “Pan Pacific” brands.”
The fourth PARKROYAL hotel in Australia and second in Melbourne – PARKROYAL Melbourne – will open in 2016 in the Digital Harbour Precinct of Melbourne Docklands, a premium waterfront development that is part of an on-going project to renew the city’s Central Business District.
Spanning the first 18 storeys of The Altus, a 37-storey hotel and apartment complex, PARKROYAL Melbourne will offer panoramic views of the city centre and the Victoria Harbour waterfront. It is also one of the first hotels in Melbourne Docklands targeting an Award of Merit under the Docklands Ecologically Sustainable Development Guide.
Guests at the 281-room PARKROYAL Melbourne will enjoy easy access to key business centres and modern landmarks such as Etihad Stadium and Southern Cross Station. Melbourne’s famed tram network lies just outside the hotel’s doors and lifestyle attractions, connecting guests to a diverse variety of events, dining and entertainment hotspots.
With its prime location, PARKROYAL Melbourne will complement the award-winning PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport to expand the brand’s reach of both business and leisure travellers to the city. Elsewhere in Australia, Pan Pacific Hotels Group also owns and manages the newly-refurbished PARKROYAL Darling Harbour, Sydney, PARKROYAL Parramatta and Pan Pacific Perth.
Located along the iconic Sha River (沙河) and opposite the University of Electronic Science and Technology, within the oldest cultural district in Chengdu’s city centre, the Group’s first PARKROYAL hotel in China – PARKROYAL Chengdu – is scheduled to open in 2017.
The capital of Sichuan province, Chengdu is one of the most important economic, transportation, and communication centres in Western China. It enjoys prosperity in many sectors including manufacturing, financial, automobile and information technology, attracting some of the world’s Fortune 500 companies, such Intel, Sony, Toyota and Microsoft. Chengdu has also been ranked as one of the top Chinese urban centres to invest in and among the most live-able cities in the country.
Part of a mixed-use development comprising high-end residential units, a hotel, office and retail spaces, PARKROYAL Chengdu will feature 360 guestrooms, an all-day dining restaurant, speciality restaurant, poolside bar and restaurant, lobby bar and lounge, ballroom and meeting spaces.
Adding to the Group’s China portfolio of five “Pan Pacific” properties along the East Coast – in Ningbo, Xiamen, Suzhou and Tianjin – PARKROYAL Chengdu will mark the debut of the PARKROYAL brand in the country and the extension of the Group’s footprint into inland China.
Pan Pacific Zhuhai
One of China’s premier tourist destinations, Zhuhai will be home to Pan Pacific Zhuhai – the sixth “Pan Pacific” property in the China.
Located on the southern coast of Guangdong province and bordering Macau, Zhuhai is famed for its attractive environment and surrounding landscapes, earning its reputation as a garden city. It is also a key destination for foreign capital and investment, thanks to its prime combination of location, infrastructure and port.
The 300-room Pan Pacific Zhuhai will open its doors in 2017 next to the bustling Gongbei Business Circle and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau bridge, which is currently under construction. Separated from Macau by the scenic waterway of Qianshan (前山水道), the hotel will also offer a spectacular view of the vibrant Macau city. It will feature conference facilities, a Chinese restaurant, all-day dining restaurant, executive lounge, lobby bar and lounge, a swimming pool and gym.
Pan Pacific Zhuhai and the upcoming Pan Pacific Tianjin (opening in mid-2014) will build upon the solid foundation of the current four “Pan Pacific” properties in Ningbo, Xiamen and Suzhou to further establish the brand as the premium choice of accommodation in China.
PARKROYAL Nay Pyi Taw
Following the success of PARKROYAL Yangon, widely regarded as one of the leading hotels in Myanmar, the Group will open its second PARKROYAL hotel in the capital, Nay Pyi Taw, this year.
Scheduled to launch in April, PARKROYAL Nay Pyi Taw will feature 180 rooms (opening in two phases) and comprise an all-day dining restaurant, spa, gym, swimming pool and a range of meeting facilities.
With the opening of PARKROYAL Nay Pyi Taw, PARKROYAL will be the first international hotel brand in Myanmar to enjoy a presence in two of the most important cities – the central business hub of Yangon and the seat of the government administration, Nay Pyi Taw.
As the capital of Myanmar, Nay Pyi Taw is expected to host an exciting line-up of international events, starting with the ASEAN Summit this year. Strategically located within the vicinity of Myanmar International Convention Centre, the official venue of government functions, PARKROYAL Nay Pyi Taw will look forward to receiving many foreign and local dignitaries once operational.
