Pan Pacific Hotels Group Wins Top Honours At World Travel Awards

Singapore, 10 November 2010 – Pan Pacific Hotels Group is proud to announce that four of its hotels - Pan Pacific Singapore, Pan Pacific Nirwana Bali Resort, Pan Pacific Vancouver and Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Singapore - have won top honours in the World Travel Awards 2010.
Based in Singapore, Pan Pacific Hotels Group owns and/or manages over 30 hotels, resorts and serviced suites with over 10,000 rooms in Asia and North America including those under development. The Group comprises two acclaimed brands: Pan Pacific® and PARKROYAL®.
An annual travel awards recognising the best in the industry and hailed as the ‘Oscars’ of the global travel and tourism industry, the World Travel Awards is now in its 17th year. This year, over 5000 organisations spanning 162 countries were nominated with votes cast by 183,000 travel professionals, including travel agencies, tour and transport companies and tourism organisations in over 160 countries across the globe.
At the World Travel Awards Grand Final 2010 Ceremony held at London’s Grosvenor House on 7 November, Pan Pacific Singapore was named ‘Asia’s Leading Business Hotel’ for the fifth consecutive year and ‘World’s Leading Business Hotel’ for the fourth time.
In addition, at the Asia and Australasia Winners awards ceremony held a month earlier in Delhi, Pan Pacific Nirwana Bali Resort clinched the ‘Indonesia’s Leading Golf Resort’ title while Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Singapore was named ‘Singapore’s Leading Serviced Apartments’.
Pan Pacific Vancouver was also amongst the winners in North America; it was named Canada’s Leading Business Hotel in The Americas installment of the Awards Ceremony held on October 22. The win comes hot on the heels of the hotel being named amongst Canada’s Top Hotels in the recent Conde Nast Traveler 2010 Readers’ Choice Awards.
“Winning again in the ‘World’s Leading Business Hotel’ category with Pan Pacific Singapore and charting some firsts – with Pan Pacific Vancouver, Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Singapore and Pan Pacific Nirwana Bali – is very exciting for us,” said A. Other recent accolades for the Group’s hotels include Pan Pacific Kuala Lumpur International Airport being named Global Winner in the Luxury Airport Hotel category in the 2010 World Luxury Hotel Awards.
In North America, Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre was ranked one of ‘Canada’s Top Resorts’ in the recent Conde Nast Traveler 2010 Readers’ Choice Awards.
